Our Club caters for girls and boys, from age 6+ and for all abilities. The Club provides an opportunity to try all athletic disciplines: running, jumping, throwing and walking. Relay, Pairs and Under 12's excel
All of our juveniles who competed in the recent Louth Track and Field Championships, the Louth Relays, the Leinster Relays and the Leinster Pairs and under 12's Track and Field Championships were amazing. A huge well done to all of our boys and girls who trained hard all winter and spring and are enjoying a great summer of running, jumping and throwing!
Performance of the Championships goes to Cara Lynch and Grace Doyle who have pulled off an amazing feat of bagging 3 gold medals each under 9, with wins at 60m and 300m, as well as the 4x100m relay with their teammates Sadie Doyle and Lara Byrne. There were also huge performances from Anna Donoghue and Hazel Gregory with silver medals in the under 11 turbo javelin, with Anna also a member of the under 11 Louth County team who were 2nd in the Leinster Inter County Championship. All of these girls have qualified for the National Championships on June 22nd.
We were all on cloud 9 in Tullamore on May 31st, with the Fitzpatrick family at the All Ireland Schools, celebrating a silver medal for St.Mary's College, Dundalk student Matthew Fitzpatrick, in the senior boys 800m in 1.52.22, equalling his PB. A proud day for Matthew, his family and his coach Fintan Reilly. Matthew is no stranger to the track in Tullamore, he showed his potential in the pairs competition 11 years ago! Evan Costello, representing St. Joseph's CBS in Drogheda was also competing at the Championships, having qualified from North Leinster and Leinster. Evan had a great race finishing in 7th overall.
Our members compete all over the country and sometimes abroad too! Road Races, Cross Country and Track and Field, with all ages and abilities catered for. Our committee members are also active coaches and athletes. Larry Mc Guill's Rás na hÉireann is our flagship event and we appreciated all of the local support and interest.

On Sunday 4th August 2024, we hosted a fun, family day of laps and laps of the Dunleer AC track, and our endeavour to run the distance from Dunleer to Paris was a supersonic success.

Dunleer AC's Annual General Meeting
The AGM took place in January 2025 and we are delighted to announce that we have Áine Mc Bride back in charge as our Chairperson. Áine is ably assisted by her secretary Sinéad Townsend, treasurer and Rás Director Noel Williams, as well as her other committee members and coaching team.

The Celtic Games took place in January in Scotland. There was a fantastic result for Ireland, with Dáire and Maebh both 3rd scoring members on their Irish teams, with Ireland 2nd behind Scotland in the boys under 17, and Ireland 3rd in the girls under 20.
National CC Relay
Silver medallists in the National under 14 Cross Country relays. Super well done to Cormac, Dearbhla, Nathan and Clíodhna.
Well done to Dearbhla and Cliodhna on their fantastic running this cross country season at both Club and Schools Cross Country. Fantastic girls who train hard and have fun also! Love the smiling faces, no matter what the weather!
Mixed Relay
5th in the senior mixed cross country relay. Great maiden voyage guys. You did your Club proud on the National stage!
National Bronze for Daire
A strong finish and clever negotiation of the mucky conditions brought home the National bronze and a place on the Celtic team for Ireland, for Daire. What a proud day for Dunleer AC!
Leinster Championships
Leinster Champion for Dunleer with Fiannaith King running the race of her life to win the title, after a silver medal under 12.
