All Weather Training Track in Dunleer 2010 Update
It is with huge delight that the Dunleer AC Committee can announce that the all weather training track in Dunleer was reopened in 2010 following renovation work. The renovation work including kerbing, drainage and resurfacing has been completed and the Clubrooms have been painted and the water connection improved.

While some funding in the form of a grant comes from the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism, the committee has been busy raising funds to complete the task, with a successful golf classic and race night doing a lot of the work. Money will continue to be raised in 2011 with events planned to involve the walking, jogging and running community who use the track daily.

"The track" as it known locally is busy all day with men and women, boys and girls of all ages using this safe facility. It is an even surface, safely in off the road covering 500m a lap. Lights around the track make it a safe training area in the evenings when official Dunleer AC coaching sessions take place, primarily on Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

The facilities at both Scoil Uí Mhuirí in Dunleer and St. Oliver's Community College in Drogheda provided a very welcome interim arrangement for Dunleer AC members, and a huge thank you goes to Louth VEC and the school Principals for accommodating the 200 plus youngsters and their parents who availed of their modern spacious gym areas. Now that the track is ready however, it is hoped that all Club members as well as members of the growing local community will enjoy many hours and laps of the rejuvenated facility for years to come, as was the wish of the original committee who had the vision to provide this community facility and amenity, which opened on January 1st 1984.
